Good Morning Fellow Historians,

After watching a PBS special last night on the plight of our Native people during the colonial period I am more convinced than ever that family history is a vital part of our historical record. Much of the narrative was based on journals kept by ordinary people simply documenting their lives. Those observations become our eye wittiness accounts of a time long past. Our own journals can and will do the same for future generations.  History was not lived by “the famous” alone.  Men, women and children from all walks of life are active participants and their stories bring a more rounded and inclusive perspective to history. Keep journals, keep writing and keep saving history!
