Good Morning Fellow Historians,

Though I have not been active on this site for a bit I have been busy preserving my grandfathers letters. Every one I read reveals a man whom I never met but feel strangly close to. I can see my own father in his words. Though my grandfather did not make the history books, he did live in historic times and his insight helps me to better understand it; likely better than any history book could. It occurs to me that we should all document our lives and save our correspondence. How many historic revelations are made based on journals and letters  found many years later. I recently read about a new book published that is based on a long lost journal. It puts a very different spin on FDR’s actions during the Holocaust.  We all need to find our past, document out present, and save history.
